Every Real Estate Negotiator (REN) in Malaysia renews the same way each year: attend the REN Renewal Programme, then renew the tag before the year ends. For 2026, LPPEH (BOVAEP) set the dates and the rules in one notice, Notification 07/2026, issued on 27 April 2026. This guide covers what it says, who may run the course, and what to do if your tag has already lapsed.
Key regulatory takeaways
- RRP 2026 opens on 1 May 2026, and RENs have from May to December 2026 to attend (Notification 07/2026, 27 April 2026).
- LPPEH appointed 7 institutions and associations to run it, PEPS among them.
- The RRP certificate is issued digitally through BIS2, and the renewal goes in through BIS2 before the end of 2026 with a bankruptcy certificate.
- Only an active tag can be renewed with RRP 2026; an expired tag needs the 2-day NCC (Notification 07/2026, Note 2).
When does RRP 2026 start and end?
LPPEH (BOVAEP) Notification 07/2026, dated 27 April 2026, opens the REN Renewal Programme (RRP) for 2026 on 1 May 2026. Every REN has from May to December 2026 to attend this compulsory course, which is what makes them eligible for a 2027 REN tag.
RRP replaced the Continuous Development Program (CDP), so a REN who books a "CDP course" is booking RRP. The course renews your practice for the following year. Attend in 2026, and you qualify for a 2027 tag. Each appointed body sets its own session dates and venues, so the RRP 2026 schedule depends on which body you book with.
Who can run RRP 2026?
Only the 7 institutions and associations that LPPEH appointed in Notification 07/2026 may run RRP 2026: RISM, PEPS, PENILAISAMA, MIEA, MIPFM, PEHAM and IMPAC. A session from any other organiser will not count towards your 2027 renewal, so check the organiser's name before you pay.
| Appointed body | Full name |
|---|---|
| RISM | Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia |
| PEPS | Persatuan Penilai, Pengurus Harta, Ejen Harta Tanah dan Perunding Harta Swasta Malaysia |
| PENILAISAMA | Persatuan Penilai Sektor Awam Malaysia |
| MIEA | Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents |
| MIPFM | Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers |
| PEHAM | Persatuan Perunding Hartanah Muslim Malaysia |
| IMPAC | Institute of Malaysian Property Agents and Consultants |
Where the course is held matters too. Since 5 March 2026, Notification 4/2026 bars NCC and RRP sessions at an estate agency's or firm's own premises, and every venue must be under the supervision of the association running it. A session your firm arranges in its own office will not be a valid RRP.
PEPS is one of the 7 appointed bodies. See RRP 2026 dates and venues on the PEPS RRP page.
How do I get my RRP 2026 certificate and renew?
After you attend, the digital RRP certificate is issued through the BIS2 system. Notification 07/2026 then asks every REN to complete the renewal through BIS2 before the end of 2026, and the application must go in with a bankruptcy certificate from the Malaysian Department of Insolvency.
- Book a session with one of the 7 appointed bodies.
- Attend, then check that your digital certificate appears on BIS2.
- Get the bankruptcy certificate from the Malaysian Department of Insolvency.
- Renew through BIS2 before the end of 2026, with the certificate attached.
Two items hold up a renewal at this stage: the certificate on BIS2 and the bankruptcy certificate. Get both in hand before you file.
Can I attend RRP 2026 if my REN tag has expired?
Attending will not renew it. Notification 07/2026 limits RRP 2026 to negotiators with an active REN licence or card, and says a REN whose tag has expired cannot renew for 2027 with an RRP 2026 certificate. The way back is to attend the NCC again.
Check your status on the LPPEH search before you book. If the tag has lapsed, the 2-day NCC is the route back, and our guide on what to do if your REN tag has expired walks through it.
Which course do I need: RRP, NCC or CPD?
RRP is the yearly renewal course for active RENs. The NCC is the 2-day entry course, and also the route back for an expired tag. CPD is the separate credit-hour requirement for registered valuers, appraisers, estate agents and property managers; RENs meet their yearly requirement through RRP instead.
The three are easy to mix up. Our side-by-side guide, NCC vs RRP vs CPD, sets out who each course is for and how often.
Frequently asked questions
What is the last month to attend RRP 2026?
December 2026. Notification 07/2026 gives RENs from May to December 2026 to attend.
Do I need a bankruptcy search to renew?
Yes. Notification 07/2026 says the renewal application must be submitted with a bankruptcy certificate from the Malaysian Department of Insolvency.
Can my agency run RRP for its negotiators in the office?
No. Since 5 March 2026, Notification 4/2026 bars NCC and RRP sessions at agency or firm premises.
Is RRP the same as CDP?
Yes. The REN Renewal Programme (RRP) replaced the Continuous Development Program (CDP) as the yearly course RENs attend to renew their tag.
Update, October 2026
LPPEH Notification 26/2026 (1 October 2026) sets the 2027 renewal. Negotiators must attend RRP before 31 December 2026, and their registered estate agent submits the RRP attendance certificate and a current bankruptcy search through BIS between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027. A REN who misses either step becomes inactive and must sit the NCC again to return.
